Introduction.

I am very happy to study in USM although initially sometime I felt depressed but after five months of being here and know more deeply in the course of housing, building and planning a lot of things I can learn from   project 1 to the exhibition day are quite meaningful experience. When first learning to draw self-portrait although it not same like my real face but I also satisfied because it is my first time draw self-portrait. For project 7 until project 10 we need to combine with difference actor so this part I can learn to work in team.
After finish this RUS104, I hope can apply this experience to coming semester and  more confident. Thank You.

PROJECT 8 - (RE) VISITED

This project it about the visited at Batu Feringghi. the project involved by the group, each group have 16 people from difference field. before we started project 8, on 5.11.2012 all the students go the Batu Feringghi to study about the location also do the site analysis. What I lean from we study from this trip is

Batu faringghi is a beach area in Penang, Malaysia. Along this famous beach area with great hotels, tourist shops, resorts, restaurants and car and motorbike rental office. It is located adjacent to Teluk Bahang and Tanjung Bungah. Batu Ferringhi  located along the northwestern coastal city of Georgetown and lined with world-class resort. Batu Feringgi beach was also hit by the tsunami tragedy during the 26 December 2004 earthquake.

For tourists, Batu Ferringhi features hotels such as Hard Rock Hotel, Hydro Hotel, Holiday Inn, Bayview Beach Resort, Golden Sands Resort, Grand Plaza Parkroyal Penang, Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa. It is also famous for its sidewalk bazaar that takes place every day from around 6pm until past midnight. This night bazaar is a busy and enjoyable shopping for visitors, and plenty of haggling can be heard along the stretch of individual stalls. Traders and buyers negotiating in good humors for the best price for the variety of items on sale – from imitation designer t-shirts to silver jewelers, colourful plastic buoys to fragile exotic curios.

As the sun sets, Batu Ferringhi comes alive with a carnival-like atmosphere with an open-air bazaar selling anything from ornate curios to enticing souvenir items. Watch local artisans demonstrate the intricate art of craft-making and batik-painting. Dubbed the Feringghi Walk, the Pasa rMalam (bazaar) offers shoppers a host of attractions.

PROJECT 5 - BLUEPRINT

This project is continued from last project that is blueprint of our sculpture. Blueprint is the drawing that consist of plan and elevation plan(i.e side, front and rear view ). Then, we have to draw the axonometric view in this project.

PROJECT 4 - SCULPTURE

For this project all students are required to make the concept of sustainability sculpture. Sculpture is the branch of the visual art that operates in three dimensions , and one of the plastic arts. Durable sculptural processes originally used carving (the removal of material) and modelling (the addition of material, as clay), in stone, metal, ceramics, wood and other materials but, since modernism, shifts in sculptural process led to an almost complete freedom of materials and process. A wide variety of materials may be worked by removal such as carving, assembled by welding or modelling, or moulded, or cast.

My sculpture design is twin tower, that use old newspaper and box. construction of this sculpture inspired  from tiered cake. i use old newspaper because every day people use and throw it away so to be more sustainability we must do something. That why i try to do something with reuse it to pollution.

PROJECT 3 - EXTERIOR

For this project all student are required to draw natural and man-made structure in the area of HBP. I choose to draw "Licuala Grandis" tree for natural structure while man-made structure I choose lecture hall at E48.
